Everyone on the Holistic Actions Empower Hour weekly webinar was in tears after
watching a video about the Ellevet Project. Founders of the CBD for pets company, Amanda Howland and Christian Kjaer, based in Portland, Maine rented a 38 foot RV in 2020 by in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Knowing that the homeless and their pets had fewer resources than ever, and that the suffering and death toll would be high for street pets, they filled the RV with medical supplies,
hired a few veterinarians willing to go out on the street during the pandemic treated over 1200 dogs and cats in the first 2 months. If they did not have the equipment needed, they paid for local veterinary care.
In addition to donating to this wonderful cause, I promise to find holistic veterinarians and lay people who will volunteer their skills to help the Ellevet Project treat the cherished companions of the homeless.

Now, success stories with healing you can do at home.
Phoebe, a sweet 10 year old female DSH was going frequently to the litter box. She had been given antibiotics several times in the past. Hoping for a more gentle treatment (she got diarrhea every time she took drugs, she bought some Tinkle Tonic (Animals' Apawthecary), an herbal combination from wonderful Greg Tilford. A few hours later, she seemed less distressed in the box, and within two days her urinating patterns were back to normal. In her next 10 years of life she only had
one more episode of bladder problems which also responded well to Tinkle Tonic.
Bernie, a Saint Bernard, had repeated skin problems, especially hot spots. While beginning to switch to a raw food diet, stop chemicals by avoiding vaccines, flea and tick treatments, etc, he developed a smelly, oozing spot under his tail. Remembering what had worked when she was a child with poison ivy, a visiting friend suggested making a sudsy soap with lye (or brown) soap. They clipped the hair and applied the soap which did not seem to hurt. When Bernie started to lick the spot
he made a face and stopped licking. The hot spot dried up in a few days and the hair was back in a few weeks.

If you missed the talk by Bob Goldstein here is some of what he covered. He has been in practice for over 50 years and has done a lot of research on ways to prevent and treat cancer. His book, The Goldstein's Wellness and Longevity Program has great info.
- 50% of dogs and 32% of cats over the age of 10 get cancer
- Underlying causes of cancer by %
- genetics 30%
- diet 45%
- medications 15%
- vaccinations 10%
- emotional state of your pet 9Not measured)
So you have control over at least 70% and by improving them, you improve the epigenetics so even the genetics are less challenging.
Also important is to support the microbiome - fermented foods, dirt, lots of exposure, pro- and pre-biotics, raw goat's milk and much more.
