Intention, Love and Trust
Dr. Jeff Feinman reminds us
that we hold the potential to influence our pets’ healing process – every day.
Our hands, minds and hearts are potent tools in our pets’ happiness, quality of life and even healing.
Check out books by Bernie Sigel, Lynne McTaggart, Joe Dispenza and on Heart Math, to name merely a few.

When petting, stroking, or beginning to massage your dog or cat, spend a few moments
to:
- Connect deeply. Feel their warmth, the texture of their fur, see their souls in their eyes. Take a deep breath, connect with your heart and love, and be present.
- Visualize the healing power flowing through you and out through your hands and your breath. Imagine this is a nurturing energy supporting your pet. It is a part of the ecosystem, where every touch and thought help harmonize and regenerate. See your companion’s
body as a resilient and self-sustaining organism, designed for health.
- Affirmations are ways to have a clear intention. You may say “Your body knows how to heal. I trust in your innate ability to be healthy.” “Your mitochondria are healthy and the powerhouse to help every cell function perfectly.”
- Gratefully express that even if today is challenging, you know they have strength and resilience. State you thankfulness for your life with this
wondrous being
This practice enhances your animal’s well-being and deepens the love and trust between you.

Robyn Hood described ways that the Tellington Method develops trust, love and connection.
- Trust and
Balance promotes physical, mental and emotional balance.
- Understanding proprioception helps your pet sense its position and move gracefully, even when there are mobility issues
- Observing posture, motions, desires, loves, and small expressions of concern. And I love this – listen to their whispers. Notice both observations and interpretations – both are valid. Your dog or cat will give you
more clues the more you listen to them.
- Behaviors are communications to you, not to be taken personally. Be kind and understanding.
- Bodywork with gentle touches can be relaxing to both of you, enhancing trust and love.
- Groundwork using slow mindful movements of ones loved by your
pet builds muscle strength and balance, easing mobility in life.
- Equipment, such as harnesses, leashes, wraps, cavelliti, scrunchies, and more, properly used and selected, promotes balanced movements and prevents pulling.

WARNING – Avoid this drug if possible
Use your common sense when offered a new drug or treatment, conventional or holistic.
Dr. Ihor Basko covered concerns about a new drug that is being pushed for pain relief of osteoarthritis for dogs and cats in his weekly radio show, Pets and People in Paradise. Librela (bedinvetmab or Barensa) targets nerve growth factor which is elevated in osteoarthritis. It is a monthly injection.
Questions you may ask: If injected and there is a bad reaction, can it be reversed? If it is stopping nerve growth, how would that affect all the body
processes relying on nerves, especially brain function?
The answers may not be known yet, however we are seeing some side effects of, even seizures or worsening of seizures. Many other side effects are reported in people.
What else can be used for pain? He finds Noni, a local Hawaiian herb, to be good, even in cats, as well as cold laser, acupuncture, and more. I have found energy approaches, Intelligent Threads, homeopathy,
acupressure, Tellington T-touch and many more to be very effective.
Dr. Ihor Basko then went on to say 90% of the dogs with seizures are using regular chemicals like flea and tick repellents, nexgard, bravecto, credelio, frontline, simpelleia, trifexis, are exposed to environmental pesticides or drugs like this one.
Good brain food - fish (mercury), choline (aa needed to regenerate brain tissue) - broccoli, etc, fish, Co Q 10 (anti
oxidant).

Alpha-Gee for pain relief
One of Smart Pet Talk TV guests in July was Mark Faulkner whose research discovered a peptide that actually heals the injured mitochondria that are triggering the pain cascade. Totally safe with no side effects and showing wonderful results in
people and animals for fairly rapid (minutes to hours) pain relief. I am waiting with bated breath to get some to try.

Have a safe rest of the summer, keep your dogs cool and protect their feet from hot pavements or rocks or sand. I nearly burned my feet near the beach because it was so hot!
