Happy veterinary update 🩺 The 2025 AHVMA (American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association) annual conference was thrilling for me. There were many talks on using pure energy healing or hands-on healing needing no needles, herbs, equipment, etc. One, these
approaches can be learned by each of you. Two, they lessen the cost to the environment. Three, many can be done remotely, so you always have access to healing experts. Some that were covered are: massage, Qi Gong, quantum healing, laser, sound, nutrition, and fascial work/osteopathy. I. Healing Stories - 📖 Dr. Odette Suter’s book, What Your Vet Never Told You, covers a lot of the topics we do here to have full, vibrant health. She speaks of a dachshund who, even several years after surgery for a back problem, still did not walk properly. The neuro exam of “knuckling” that any of you can do at home (to know what is normal for your dogs and cats) showed a definite nerve deficit. Normal is when either of the back feet are turned so that the top of the foot rests on the
ground, and within seconds, the dog will turn the paw so the pads are properly touching the ground, showing normal nerve pathways to and from the brain. This long pup’s feet never budged when in the improper position. After just one chiropractic treatment, her paws reacted normally and she ran off after a nearby dog.
- 🐈 Sue asked (thank you for requests) about her 8 yr old male cat with asthma. “What would you suggest for supplements to assist with this? If he has 2 or 3
days of a cough in a row, I will give him a prednisolone 5mg and that will stop the cycle. I would rather not give him that of course and I don’t want to use inhalers either.” The cause of 98% of symptoms is an imbalance in the energy field of the body, so for serious diseases, especially when continued treatments (even sporadic) are needed, a professional is needed. Supportive, health building steps you can take while getting an appointment include intentional love sessions, happiness
sessions, Reiki, TTouch, massage, exercise more and more (if it does not trigger coughing), and feeding a fresh food diet from local farms. One lovely 5 year old Bengal came to me because of super low energy, while on several years of asthma medication, started after an immediate vaccine reaction. With individualized remedy selection, over a month period we were able to slowly wean him off the medication. His energy returned, and even with major household changes, he never had asthma again.
Homeopathy & Chinese medicine (TCVM) are the two most reliable approaches for deep healing, along with the support of a great fresh food diet, avoiding toxins, and having the best air quality possible. Please carefully read and follow the steps in this article on finding and working with a holistic
veterinarian. Also, it would be great to regularly post in a health journal (purchase here, or get one free with Holistic Actions
membership).
II. Health Tips - 🎒 Lighten the Backpack of Stressors. Just as each one of us can carry a different weight backpack on the trail, each of our animals can thrive even with a heavy weight. In a recent Holistic Actions member webinar, Dr. Janet Rourke (expert in essential
oils) used this great analogy. This may also lessen your stress levels when making decisions. Heavy packs include stressors like processed food, toxins, suppression of symptoms, your emotional stress, and more. Just removing one stressor can lighten the backpack enough to give great relief. So start with one at a time and watch for good changes.
- 💉 Another reader asked how pet parents can identify the cause of symptoms. Are they genetic, allergies, or caused by vaccines or a
response to toxins or other stressors? Her bias is that it is from vaccines. She claimed that: “It certainly changes the medical approach for us as parents when you identify the culprit.” Another reader wanted to know about curing yeast in the ears and skin. Generally, the only cause of any symptom is an imbalance in the vital force – not bacteria, yeast, vaccines, etc. What we as conventional veterinarians call causes are either a trigger or a response to a trigger (yeast is
just taking advantage of an imbalance of the chi). Rebalancing the energy field/Qi is the “medical approach” to healing and preventing future symptoms, so this is your main focus. Symptoms are your clues to this underlying energetic pattern of health and illness. Each animal is unique. Rarely is there only one trigger to which the field is sensitive.
- 🙌 Energy Healing – Let Animals Lead. Kathleen Prasad, a leader in animal Reiki switched in 2018 to Let Animals Lead, a hands free, initiation free healing you can start today with your animals. Originally, Usui did not do hand positions; he did meditate. Attunement (taking a class) allows you to experience the energy already with you and feel more confident. More than enough is to say and feel deeply that, All is well. You are safe. You are loved. Focus on
the heart – love animals and they will mirror it back. Do this while leash walking. Be joyful. Join a weekly free call.
III. Classes - 🦽 Mobility: Wonderful veterinarian and international speaker, Dr. Laurie
McCauley has many online classes for veterinarians and anyone living and working with animals. There are videos for specific exercises for different mobility problems as well as to prevent future problems. She now has the first class discussing the total body organ – the fascia.
- 💻 Mobility: Highly recommended by a holistic groomer and animal communicator is Dogs 4 Motion Academy: online classes to help your dogs build and maintain strength over the years. For athletes or house dogs!
- 💻 Live three-hour, small, online classes with me to answer all your animal related questions. Email me with your interest in How to Feed, How to Create and Empower a Health Care Team, Healing Approaches You Can Learn – or other topics you wish to be covered.
IV. Good News From Organizations For Health And Sustainability - 🐝 Bee Holistic Cat Rescue is thriving despite a decrease in funding that affects different areas of their work. Fresh food, animal communicators, and holistic treatments allow cats to live healthier lives (“The fat ones slim down, and gain back their vitality: clear eyes, lustrous skin… Cats in our care almost always avoid the urinary problems, skin problems, GI problems, etc.”). They are now focusing on end-of-life care, having been trained
by Gail Pope of Brighthaven. By avoiding toxins and processed foods, they are helping the environment along with the cats.
- 🌍 The Hunger Project - Youth and sustainability day.
In Africa, Asia, and Latin America, young people are using their creativity and determination for community-led solutions to hunger, climate change, and inequality. Their creativity, determination, and leadership are redefining what’s possible.
